Mr. Quintanilla, Director of Bands

Mr. Erick Quintanilla is a dedicated music educator with an extensive background in both music education and performance. Mr. Quintanilla transferred from Pasadena City College to Azusa Pacific University, where he earned his Bachelors in Music Education and a Masters in Tuba Performance.  He previously served as the director of bands at Roosevelt High School in the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), where he also served as Associate Director of the All District High School Honor Band (All City). There, he worked with other directors from LAUSD to prepare students for the annual Rose Parade for the past 15 years. Mr. Quintanilla has also performed at the Tournament of Roses Parade a total of 7 times with various groups, such as the Air Force Band and the Pasadena Tournament of Roses band. Before and during his career in education, Mr. Quintanilla served in the United States Air Force with the 562nd Air National Guard Band. In the Air Force, he toured the world country and served as their drum major. Now retired from the Air Force, he continues to inspire young musicians as the band director at Glendora High School. Mr. Quintanilla is known for his passion for music and commitment to mentoring the next generation of musicians. When he is not in service of students, he enjoys his time with his wife and 3 children.
